Reynolds Emergency Preparedness Plan

The Reynolds Police Department is an accredited police agency and responds rapidly to any emergency. Our Crisis and Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) provides detailed planning and structure for a community response to emergencies. The Continuity of Operation Plan (COOP) is a recovery plan that works in conjunction with the CEMP and provides a framework to minimize potential impact and allow for rapid recovery from an incident that disrupts operations.

Stay Informed

Knowing what to do before, during and after an emergency is a critical part of being prepared and may make all the difference when seconds count. Some of the things you can do to prepare for the unexpected, such as building an emergency supply kit and making an emergency plan, are the same for both a natural or man-made emergency. Register for Reynolds Alert to receive important information during an emergency. Get more information at ready.gov.

The "Reynolds Alert" allows registered users to receive emergency notifications, on and off campus through cellular devices. Alerts Beacons are placed throughout all college buildings providing emergency notifications. Beacons will flash red during an emergency with a text messaging indicating the type of emergency and appropriate response.

Get a Kit

This means having your own food, water, and other supplies such as a flashlight with extra batteries, first aid kit, cell phone charger, and medications, stored in an easy-to-carry container or bag. Find out what else to include in your kit at ready.gov.

Make a Plan

Know in advance what to do if you need to evacuate. Choose an out-of-area contact person because if local phone lines are overloaded or out of service, it may be easier to text or call long-distance. Individuals with functional needs should consider being part of a buddy system with a roommate, classmate, or colleague who could provide assistance and support before, during, and after an emergency.
