Exam Schedule Notes

The exam schedule is intended for full-semester, 15-week, courses.  Courses scheduled for shorter or dynamic sessions must include an examination period of the required length in the total instructional minutes scheduled.  The examination period for shorter or dynamic courses is to be held during the last class meeting of the session.

Full-semester courses not included in the final examination schedule will have their examination scheduled by the instructor during the examination week.  However, examinations listed in the exam schedule will take priority over instructor-scheduled examinations.

For courses which meet on an off-grid schedule of meeting days (EX: Mon & Thurs, Mon-Wed-Sat, etc.), the instructor should select an exam day and time designated for courses that meet on conflicting days at conflicting times so as to minimize the likelihood that students would have another exam on the same day at the same time.

Full-semester courses with 3 or more contact hours per week require an exam period of 2 hours and 40 minutes.  Full-semester courses with 2 contact hours per week require an exam period of 1 hour and 40 minutes.  Full-semester courses with 1 contact hour per week require an exam period of 50 minutes.

Courses that do not have a final examination must hold a regular class at the time specified in the examination schedule.

*The 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 4:00pm – 6:40pm examination periods overlap by 40 minutes.  Faculty should work individually with students who have an exam conflict.
