Academic Interests: My academic interest is to improve the distance education component of the respiratory therapy program. Specifically, I am interested in enhancing student interaction with courses within the respiratory curriculum in order to increase student retention of course information. Some of my ideas are to incorporate clinical simulations, modules, and videos in conjunction with the lecture notes and laboratories while touching on the various learning styles of the students. In doing so, I believe students will be able to raise his or her comfort level of being enrolled in a distance learning course.

I have also been involved with the Virginia Society for Respiratory Care for 33 years and have served on various Education committees.
