Patron Eligibility and Registration:
Library registration is required of all borrowers. Either your JSRCC
Student ID card or your JSRCC library card is necessary to check out
materials.
Check-out policies:
Students may have up to 15 items checked out at one time. Community
patrons may check out up to five books.
Check-out period for books and audiobooks is 4 weeks (28 days) with the
possibility of one additional 4-week renewal. The check-out period for
popular DVDs is 1 week with no renewal. Some materials may have special
loan periods.
Reference books and periodicals may NOT be checked out.
Renewal and Holds:
Books may be renewed in person, online, or by telephone during library
hours. Books that are overdue or have a hold on them cannot be renewed.
Popular DVDs cannot be renewed.
Holds may be placed on all circulating books that are currently checked
out or are located at another JSRCC campus library. You must have a
JSRCC student ID or library card to place holds.
Delinquent Materials and Borrowers:
Overdue materials that have not been returned will result in a hold
being placed on the user's record. Users may not check out materials,
obtain transcripts or register for classes until the hold is cleared.
Library holds will be cleared when bill if paid or when items are
returned and the fee is paid.
Borrowers who lose library materials are required to pay the replacement
cost of the lost materials. Minimum replacement fee for lost or damaged
books is $50.00 per item. After 2 months a $15.00 nonrefundable fee is
added.
Intra-campus and Interlibrary Loans:
Library users may obtain material from any JSRCC campus library through
intra-campus loan. Requests normally arrive within 72 hours.
Interlibrary Library Loan (ILL):
ILL
service is also available for materials not held by the library. ILL
request can be submitted online at

or in print. Only JSRCC faculty, staff, and students are eligible to
borrow on Interlibrary Loan. Textbooks are not available through
interlibrary loan. For further information please see the

Richmond Academic Library Cooperative:
The Richmond Academic Library Cooperative
(RALC) provides limited reciprocal borrowing privileges for students,
faculty and staff of its members. Borrowers must abide by all policies
of the lending library, including loan periods, fines, and replacement
charges. Faculty, staff and students must obtain a pass at the Reference
Desk at in order to borrow from another RALC institution.
