Advising

Advising Services

Advising Services is where students receive assistance with academic advising, career advising and transfer advising. Visit any campus to speak with an Advising Services advisor today.

Advising Services Hours will vary - see Registration and Advising Schedule

Academic advising within Advising Services is designed to facilitate a seamless transition into Reynolds and to provide institutional support that will encourage academic success and assist students with clarification of their academic, curricular, and career goals.  Advising Services advisors interpret placement test scores and recommend courses for new students, non-curricular students, and continuing students who have successfully completed 15 or fewer credit hours.

Students may also work with a faculty advisor in conjunction with an Advising Services advisor. Students are assigned a faculty advisor upon acceptance to Reynolds.  Most students will transition from an Advising Services advisor to a faculty advisor once they have achieved more than 15 credit hours. However, some academic programs require that students meet with a faculty advisor beginning their first semester of enrollment.

Reynolds requires students in academic distress meet with a faculty advisor or a  “Retention Services Coach” depending on their academic standing.

If you have 0-15 earned credits, please see an advisor in Advising Services. There are 3 exception programs.

First Year Advising (0-15 credit hours)

Students with fewer than 15 credits, will receive an email from FirstYearAdvising@Reynolds.edu early in their first semester.  This email will indicate which advisors advise in the student’s program of study.  Students will be directed to schedule an appointment with one of the advisors who advise in their program.

It is important to schedule your appointment as soon as possible once you receive that email communication in order to get an appointment that works with your schedule and in order to be prepared to register for classes once registration opens.
