Guidelines

  1. Free tutoring is available to students at Reynolds who are currently enrolled in credit courses they list on the Request for Tutoring application. However, each term, there may be courses for which tutors are not available.

  2. The Tutoring Services s (ASC) cannot provide tutoring for students in courses that have already been successfully completed, in non-credit courses, in audited courses, for senior citizens taking tuition-free courses or students from special programs at the college that incorporate tutoring or reduced sized classes.

  3. Students may use a maximum of two 50-minute sessions per week per course of peer tutorial services. Walk-in group sessions may be available with faculty volunteers for some courses. Please check with the ASC each term for Walk-in tutoring hours.

  4. Pick up and complete a Request for Tutoring application along with the Guidelines from an Tutoring Services , Room 329 (DTC) or Room 102, Burnette Hall (PRC). Print, complete, and bring a copy along with your Reynolds ID to one of the ASC locations.

  5. When you submit the completed application to the ASC, an appointment is made or a search for a qualified tutor is started. If a tutor is not available, your application is placed on a waiting list. Students should stop by or call the ASC to check on their status. First appointments must be made in person in the ASC. Follow up appointments may be scheduled in person or by telephone.
