How will I receive my diploma if I cannot attend Commencement?
After the ceremony graduates will be directed to return to the Activity Center to pick up their diplomas.
How can we view the ceremonies if we aren't attending?
The ceremonies will be livestreamed for viewing if you cannot attend, and will be recorded for later viewing. A link to the livestream will be sent by email to all participating graduates before the ceremony. The link will also be available on the main Graduation page.
What should graduates bring?
Please arrive dressed in your regalia. You will need to navigate stairs and walk quite a distance. Please consider this when choosing your footwear for the day as the procession moves quickly. Leave all personal belongings (including cell phones and purses) with your guests. We regret that Reynolds cannot take responsibility for any lost or stolen items.
What items are prohibited?
VCU has informed us that you and your guests will not be allowed to bring weapons, balloons, wrapped packages, or gifts into the Siegel Center. Click here to view the complete list of prohibited items. VCU's Police will be on duty at the entrances to help ensure everyone's safety.
Where do we park?
Parking for graduates and guests is available in the VCU West Broad Street parking deck (1111 W. Broad St) for $10, CASH ONLY.
Do guests need tickets?
Guest tickets are not required this year. However, when registering you will be asked how many guests you plan to bring.
What to do at the conclusion of the ceremony?
At the end of the ceremony, the Faculty Marshals and graduates will march out of the arena and return to the lower level. Spring 2022 graduates will proceed to the Activity Center on the lower level to pick up their diplomas. Summer and fall 2021 graduates who have already received their awards will be permitted to leave at this point. Be sure to arrange a meeting place with your family and friends before the ceremony.
