Peggy Page - 2022 Grad

Just before her May graduation Peggy Page sent me her story in an email. Her passion brought her to Reynolds. The support of Reynolds faculty and staff kept her here. Here's what she had to say about her time at Reynolds:

First, I would like to thank my Higher Power for giving me the courage and the opportunity to accomplish this milestone in my life. I would also like to thank the professors and the staff at Reynolds for being so patient, helpful, encouraging, thoughtful and compassionate. They are truly Awesome! I would not have made it without your guidance through it all.

What brought me to Reynolds was my passion for helping others. While working as a CNA I volunteered for an organization that served individuals who were impacted by mental health issues, substance use disorder, and incarceration. I began to work within the community and was later hired by the organization to facilitate a behavioral modification group to women in a regional jail. I didn’t know what to expect when I got there but what I found after talking to these women on that day in March of 2019 was my purpose.

I knew that I needed the proper training and tools to communicate effectively as well as professionally and the following year March 2020 I enrolled in Reynolds for the AAS degree program in Human Services. I hadn’t been to school in over 10 years but I felt ready until the Pandemic hit. I always said that I didn’t sign up for this because school became virtual and I wanted to say forget it and bail out but my professors were there for me with support and at that time some of them let me know that they didn’t sign up for virtual as well, so we encouraged and supported each other and here I am getting ready to graduate!!
