Meet Jennifer Vaughn

Jennifer Vaughn is a shining example of the transformative power of education and the supportive community found at Reynolds Community College.

Jennifer's journey began when she decided to pursue a career change and enrolled in Reynolds Medical Laboratory program in 2015. Coming from a working adult background, Reynolds offered her the perfect blend of affordability and flexibility with its outstanding hybrid and online classes.

After graduation, Jennifer wasted no time in diving into a new career. She embarked on a fulfilling career journey, starting at a reference laboratory before gaining further experience in a hospital lab. In 2021, her dedication and expertise led her to join the Virginia Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services as a Senior Scientist in Newborn Screening.

More Than Just Education

Jennifer's experience at Reynolds went beyond academics. She found herself immersed in a supportive community where engagement, questions, and connections were encouraged. According to Jennifer, these interactions with both peers and instructors often led to unexpected opportunities and lifelong friendships. “Be engaged, ask questions, and make connections. You may meet people- both students and instructors - who can introduce you to opportunities in unexpected ways down the road,” she said.
