We are committed to using all of the available funds to help you gain access to a college education. In fact, more than 91% of our students graduate without any educational debt. ITN 101 - Introduction to Network Concepts

SStudy networking media, physical and logical topologies, common networking standards and popular networking protocols.

ITN 106 - Microcomputer Operating Systems

Learn about operating system utilities and multiple-level directory structures, creation of batch files, and configuration of microcomputer environments.

ITN 107 - Personal Computer Hardware and Troubleshooting

Gain a basic knowledge of hardware and software configurations including the installation of various peripheral devices as well as basic system hardware components.

Additional Program Information

PURPOSE: This program provides the student with a background in beginning networking skills. The material presented in this certificate will help prepare students for the CompTIA A+ Certification and the CompTIA Network + Certification. It is recommended that students complete the A+ Certification before the Network+ Certification.

OCCUPATIONAL OBJECTIVES: Hardware technician; entry-level help desk technician; entry-level technical support.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: General college curricular admission.

PROGRAM NOTES: The Network Fundamentals Career Studies Certificate will fulfill 18 credit hours of the Cloud Computing Career Studies Certificate and the Cyber Security Career Studies Certificate which fulfills the concentration electives in the Information Systems Technology Associate of Applied Science degree.

Students should check their advisement report in SIS and meet with their faculty advisor.

IT courses used for this program may not be more than 10 years old.

CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING: Students in this program may be eligible for credit for prior learning. See an Information Systems Technology (IST) academic advisor for further information.
