Writing Studio Workshops

Every semester the Writing Studio offers a series of workshops that address the needs and concerns of our students. These workshops are designed to provide guidance and advice about common sources of anxiety related to college-level writing.

All workshops are designed to be interactive so that you can put our advice into action and use the workshop as a "tinker space" to see how the ideas work for you.

FAQs

What does "hybrid workshop" mean?

Whenever possible, Writing Workshops are offered as hybrid events to allow students as much access to our resources as possible. As such, students may attend these events in either of the following ways:

  • In-Person Attendance: This workshop is to be held in the Writing Studio and is accessible to students at either of our physical locations:
    • The Writing Studio Downtown (Room 330)
    • The Writing Studio at Parham Road (104 Burnette Hall)
  • Virtual Attendance: Virtual participants may attend the event via Zoom by using this link. (Note: Please arrive a bit before the formal start time of the workshop so the facilitator can let you into the Zoom room.)

Does the Writing Studio offer in-class workshops?

Of course! If you are teaching a course and feel that the material we cover would be useful to your students, we are more than happy to work with you to coordinate a time to host an in-class workshop. Just send us an email letting us know your needs and we will tailor our presentation to suit those. We can also modify the activities we include to better suit your needs.

What if I'd like to know more about a topic that you don't presently cover in workshop?

The Writing Studio always strives to improve our offerings to students and we welcome your feedback and suggestions about topics and activities that would be most useful to you. Just shoot us an email and let us know what you'd like to see added to our workshop series!

Still have questions?

If you have questions about any of our events, please email the Writing Studio at writingstudio@reynolds.edu.
