  1. Purpose:

    In accordance with federal, and state regulations, Reynolds must provide disclosure regarding whether completion of an educational program is “designed to meet educational requirements for a specific professional license that is required for employment in an occupation or is advertised as meeting such requirements…”

    This policy applies to Title IV funded programs at Reynolds Community College that are:

    1. Designed to meet the educational requirements

      1. For a specific license or certification and
      2. Required for employment in an occupation, or
    2. Marketed or advertised to meet the educational requirements.

  2. Definitions:

    “Student location” is defined as the state where the student is physically located.

  3. Policy:

    1. Reynolds will have a college-wide process for collecting and reporting student location data for purposes of providing disclosures to enrolled students in educational programs leading to professional licensure or certification that is required for employment or is marketed as such.

    2. Reynolds will collect information to determine a student’s physical state location upon initial enrollment. The student is responsible for notifying the college contact to request a change in student location and an update of address in the Student Information System, if the student’s state location changes during enrollment.

    3. Reynolds will make public, disclosure in the Consumer Information online section of any academic program, regardless of instructional delivery method, designed to meet educational requirements for specific professional licensure or certification that is required for employment or is marketed as such. Disclosures will indicate whether the program meets such requirements for Virginia and other commonly disclosed states. If the state that students are located in or plan to be located in immediately after graduation is not listed as meeting the requirements, the student should notify the college contact, who can provide a determination for the state in which they are located or plan to be located.

    4. Reynolds will make individual disclosures in writing to current and prospective students that a program leading to professional licensure or certification that is required for employment or marketed as such, meets or does not meet educational requirements in states where students are located.

    5. Reynolds will not admit students to programs leading to professional licensure or certification that is required for employment or marketed as such that are located in a state other than Virginia, unless that program meets the requirements of the state where the student is located, or the student provides a written attestation of their intention to practice in Virginia or another state in which the program meets the requirements for licensure.
