  1. Purpose:

    To provide a list of official sources and documents of the college and identify the policy contents of each.

    Official College Policy

    The college will maintain an official set of policy statements in the Policies section of the Intranet site. Other sources of college policy and their respective content are listed below:

    The Student Handbook will contain official college policy with respect to:

    • academic honesty
    • authorization and regulations for campus demonstrations
    • eligibility of students with disabilities to receive accommodations
    • Family Educational Rights to Privacy Act (FERPA)
    • nondiscrimination and accessibility
    • sexual misconduct
    • student conduct
    • student grievance
    • student rights and responsibilities

    The Curriculum Development Manual will contain official college policy with respect to:

    • course syllabi
    • curricular structure
    • new career studies certificates
    • new degree programs and new majors
    • new diploma and certificate programs
    • new Reynolds courses
    • new VCCS courses
    • official course content summaries (outlines)
    • program and course discontinuances
    • revisions to existing curricula

    The College Strategic Plan will contain the following official statements:

    • college goals and objectives
    • college mission and vision statements

    The Manual for Evaluating Academic Programs will contain official college policy with respect to:

    • program evaluation
    • student learning outcomes assessment

    The 9-month and 12-month Teaching Faculty Performance and Evaluation Plan Manual will contain official college policy with respect to:

    • evaluation of adjunct faculty
    • evaluation of full-time teaching faculty and program heads

    The Administrative and Professional Faculty Performance and Evaluation Plan Manual will contain official college policy with respect to:

    • evaluation of administrative and professional faculty

    The Public Relations Guide and Style Manual will contain official college policy with respect to:

    • college logo
    • college name
    • college seal
    • college theme and statement of commitment
    • stylistic consistency
