What happens next?
Once the application has been processed, students will receive a Student ID number, a username, and password. Students should immediately log into their MyReynolds account with the username and password. Students will need the Student ID number to complete the Dual Enrollment forms as well as to take the placement tests.
All Dual Enrollment students must demonstrate college readiness in order to take any dual enrollment course. Students have two options: The Virginia Placement Test (VPT) or another test such as the PSAT, SAT, or ACT.
The Virginia Placement Test may be taken at any of the Reynolds Testing Centers on a walk in basis. See more information about the Testing Center under Student Services. Higher placement scores are expected for students who wish to place into transfer English, Math, Science and Social Studies courses. Learn more about Placement Testing.
Additionally, students need to review the current course catalog to verify they meet the prerequisites for the desired course. Upon fulfilling the testing and prerequisites, students will be enrolled in selected classes by submitting their course request forms to their high school by the appropriate deadline.
How much does it cost?
Students and parents should speak with their high school counselor for approximate costs for courses. There is no fee to take the Virginia Placement Test at Reynolds.
