Admission to J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College is open to anyone with a high school diploma, a GED, a certificate of completion of home schooling, or who is 18 and has passed the Ability-to-Benefit test. You may select either a curricular (if you plan to earn a degree or certificate) or non-curricular program.

New students and students returning from an absence of at least three years must complete an Application for Admission. High school graduation transcripts or GED Exam results are required of applicants who are completing secondary studies. Applicants to any of the health technology programs must submit official high school transcripts that document graduation or a GED diploma. For reinstatement from suspension or dismissal refer to the section on Academic Policies and Procedures and Academic Standing.
